Portraits of Gaye {Plano and Dallas Photography}

I was excited about this portrait session from the moment I learned that Gaye was an educator/administrator at the college level in the field of art and on top of all that, she lives and works in Plano. We chatted about what she was looking for in her portraits at her consultation and when it was all said and done, I knew this photo shoot was a big success. I absolutely loved working with Gaye, she is a lot of fun and we laughed and talked all the way through this special portrait session. Here's a small sampling of her many gorgeous pictures.

Gaye has an air of assurance about her that translated to images in a big way.  These headshots and full legnth photos are representative of her true personality.  She is exactly as she seems.  Gaye, you're beautiful and your pictures are true to your gracious manners and natural self assurance.

Dallas Senior Pictures Photographer {Dallas Senior Pictures}

Here's more of Haley's senior pictures as promised. She's a senior from Plano East and I've also had the pleasure of photographing her brother for his senior pictures several years ago. In the first picture, she's wearing a belt buckle that she won for her prize cow and leaning against the FFA cattle trailer......it really makes a nice backdrop and it's special because it's special to Haley. Personalized photo shoots are what our senior portraits are all about. It's easy to see how comfortable she is in this environment.

Don't you love the studio portrait showing her beautiful western belt, (it's a fancy crystal encrusted leather belt, I think it's a BB Simon brand belt), with her prize belt buckle from FFA and some of the ribbons she's won in FFA; this is probably my favorite of all her senior pictures. Her cowboy boots are pretty cute too. I always love when girls bring their prom dress so we can do some beautiful prom dress poses. You look fabulous, Haley!

Business Headshots - Beth {Plano Texas headshot photography}

Beth came in to get realtor headshots. She knew to dress in solid colors and we gave her a variety of looks by using her jacket in some pictures and just the blouse in others. I like to give business headshot clients the option to have a few different crops from each image, since these headshots will be used for various purposes, such as business cards, websites and possibly brochures or other business literature.

Portrait session with FC Dallas Dancer, Graduate of Plano East and SMU {Murphy Texas Photography}

Asgid is a FC Dallas Dancer, and also an ESPN girl, but regulations didn't permit us to photograph her in those uniforms. We did get some pictures in her "street clothes". Asgid graduated from Plano East Senior High and SMU and resides in Murphy. I'll show some more portraits from Asgid's photo session later.

Bishop Lynch High School Senior Portrait Photography {Dallas area senior photography}

Emily attended Bishop Lynch High School in Garland, but she lives in Plano. She's a '09 graduate of Bishop Lynch, as she's already graduated high school and attending TCU in Fort Worth. If you look closely you can see her beautiful senior ring in the picture with her guitar. Um, yes, you can say Emily waited until the very last minute to get her senior portraits made, but she did get them done, (finally..hehe), and they're beautiful!

KITTENS

Today we had a kitty in the studio. Joe, (short for "front row Joe"- all you Cinemark fans probably "get" that one), wasn't really into having his portrait made. We tried to do some fun stuff with bubbles, but he turned his back to the camera and watched the bubbles, kind of like a person would watch fireworks.

The experience reminded me of the time I had FIVE kittens in the studio at the same time for a picture. That was a long time ago, and the image was shot on film. I've scanned it, it's not the best scan, but you can see what that kitty photo session looked like. It was a TRIP.

Frederick and Bethany Engagement Portraits {Plano Photography}

I did Frederick's high school senior pictures when he was at Plano East ; he was class president, Mr Plano East and played corner on the football team at Plano East Senior High School. This past week, I also did his engagement portraits; how cool is that, and how gorgeous is his fiancee', Bethany? He and Bethany are recent graduates of Florida A&M. Frederick told me, "I just got lucky; I was in the right place at the right time", when I commented on Bethany's beauty.
I'm just showing a few portraits for now, I'll post more portraits later, including some pictures from our outdoor session at a tiny jewel of a park in Dallas.

SAVE THE DATE Card Created From A Recent Engagement Session

This Save The Date card was made using images from a recent engagement session. It was a special engagement session for me, I did Heathers senior portraits or pictures six years ago and
the fact that she trusted me to capture two of the most important times of her life is special to me. I love my job!

Heather and Chris met six years ago, during Heather's senior year at Plano East. Heather was co-captain of the Plano East Swim Team and also belonged to C.O.P.S. (City of Plano Swimmers). She was constantly training and swimming in meets so she wasn't able to work an after school job until swim season was over her senior year. Her first job was as a checker at Tom Thumb in Allen Texas at McDermott and I75. She met Chris there; he was also cashiering while taking college courses. So now you know the "why" about the image in front of the Tom Thumb.

It was pure dumb luck, or kismet, perhaps.... that there was a huge heart shaped Doctor Pepper carton display in the Tom Thumb storefront window the day we shot the shopping cart image.
Surely, it's an auspicious sign.

The card will be press printed with a glossy front and mailed in an envelope. Heather chose square because it's to be a theme at her wedding and purple because thats her wedding colors. Information will be added to the back of the card to direct guests to their custom wedding web site for more wedding details.

senior pictures and neon fingernail polish

Asgid graciously consented to demonstrate why high school senior girls shouldn't wear neon fingernail polish for their senior pictures. To get the full effect, make sure you click on the image so you can see it larger.

Take a look at these examples, the same senior picture pose with and without neon fingernail polish. Do you see how the bright nail polish draws your eye to Asgid's fingernails instead of her face? The neon color is jarring in this otherwise beautifully neutral portrait.

In this case, the neon polish doesn't clash with her outfit, but that can also happen when seniors change clothing during their senior portrait session. Imagine this neon green nail polish with a red dress.......... not a pretty thought, huh?

It's best to avoid neon polishes for your senior pictures. Black or blue nail polish is also a questionable look as they are trendy, and will also look extra odd in a black and white image. Strive for colors that are less trendy. Classic styles are most always the best choice for your senior portraits.

(school name withheld at request of school) Senior Portrait Session with Cheer Pictures {Plano Texas Senior Pictures Photography Studios}

This high school senior was on the internet looking for the right photographer for her high school senior portrait session. She found the our and saw a senior who went to her school from the the previous year in our galleries! Megan attends (school name withheld at request of school), and lives in Allen, Texas. Her school has a senior banquet every spring where all seniors have a 8x10 senior picture on display. Her mom said that the senior pic that Megan found of last years client, Aletha, in our senior galleries really stood out against the others, and thats why they decided to come to this Plano photography studio for Megan's senior portrait.

There was a deadline to turn in her senior image for the banquet, (a few for the slideshow and one for display), so we were taking senior pictures in the cold weather, and we still got some great stuff! We took a family portrait and some images with the family dog too during Megan's senior portrait session.

Megan has been cheering with Pro Spirit, a competitive cheer squad based in McKinney Texas since she was 8 years old. It was important to commemorate this part of her life in her senior portraits and we had a lot of fun with that, I absolutely love the image with the cheerleading uniform and the poms, and the national cheerleading champion jackets are awesome props! Did you notice that she has national championship jackets from the NCA, (National Cheerleaders Association) and the ACA, (American Cheerleaders Association) ? I absolutely love the cheerleading pictures we took, but really, the whole senior portrait session was great!
